SERVICE:   Culture, Recreation, Sports and Social Development

PROGRAM: Aquatic 

EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: Beginning of May to mid-September 

STATUS: Temporary

SALARY:   26.52$/h

SCHEDULE:

  • Day / evening / weekend (as needed)
  • 25 to 40 hours per week
The challenges that await you

As the Recreational Program Manager - Aquatic for the City of Laval's outdoor pools, you will be responsible for the proper functioning of the facilities and the coordination of activities at the outdoor pools in your area.

 

You will be responsible for supervising lifeguards, assistant head lifeguards, and head lifeguards in your geographical area. You will ensure compliance with safety rules and standards as well as verifying the qualifications of staff in accordance with regulations.

 

You will ensure the safety of the staff under your supervision as well as that of the citizens.

 

You will participate in the development of new strategies and/or organizational concepts for the framework program as well as in the overall evaluation of the program.

 

You will ensure the management and follow-up of various administrative reports and submit any anomalies to your supervisor. You will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the management of equipment in your area and will also be responsible for compliance and verification of work hours and payroll for your staff.

 

You will forward, when required, requisitions and repair requests to the relevant parties.

The ideal profile for us
  • Have two (2) years of experience as a head lifeguard for outdoor pools OR two (2) years consisting of one (1) year as a head lifeguard for indoor pools and one (1) year as a head lifeguard for outdoor pools;
  • Hold a valid national lifeguard certificate issued by the Lifesaving Society;
  • Hold a valid swimming instructor certificate issued by the Lifesaving Society;
  • Hold a valid lifeguard instructor certificate issued by the Lifesaving Society;
  • Possess a vehicle and a valid driver's license.

 

*Please note that according to the collective agreement, this position is titled Program Officer - Outdoor Pools.
