DEPARTMENT: Culture, Recreation, Sports, and Social Development
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: Early May to mid-August
STATUS: Temporary
SALARY: $23.69/hour
SCHEDULE:
- Variable schedule
- Mid-May to the end of June up to +/-10 hours/week from Monday to Friday
- End of June to mid-August up to 40 hours/week from Monday to Friday
The position of Camp Supervisor involves coordinating activities and supervising the team of counselors to ensure the smooth operation of the camp.
The individual participates in the planning and organization of programming, leads team meetings, and contributes to the mentoring and evaluation of counselors. They ensure the quality of the activities offered, manage equipment, and adhere to administrative procedures.
The Camp Supervisor also ensures a safe environment for children and staff, maintains effective communication with parents, and collaborates with various stakeholders in the program.
- Participates in the preparation of activities for their day camp;
- Participates in the evaluation of staff at their day camp;
- Coordinates the programming of activities for their day camp;
- Prepares and leads meetings for their day camp;
- Collaborates with the day camp management team and other programs to ensure the smooth operation
of recreational activities at their camp; - Ensures the safety of staff and children;
- Maintains cordial relationships with children enrolled in the program, their parents or guardians;
- Monitors the inventory of equipment from the beginning to the end of their day camp program;
- Ensures that the various required reports are completed;
- Submits a report to their immediate supervisor regarding any anomalies observed.

- Have three (3) years of experience as a day camp counselor;
- Have completed training in animation such as DAFA (Diploma of Aptitude for Animator Functions) or equivalent (an asset);
- Have completed recognized first aid training: Emergency First Aid and CPR- AED (an asset).
